Sketches & Drawings

My sketches are an ongoing practice into the human form as both presence and motion. These drawings explore figures, gestures, hands, legs, and characters not as fixed icons, but as living expressions of posture, intention, and quiet resonance. Working quickly yet attentively, I aim to capture the subtle shifts of weight, emotion, and line that make each pose feel alive.

A significant part of this practice is anatomical study. These sketches function as preparation before painting—training the eye to understand structure, proportion, balance, and how the body occupies space. Repetition and observation allow form to become intuitive, so that later, in paint, gesture and emotion can emerge with greater freedom and confidence.

Rather than striving for perfect likeness, the focus remains on rhythm and observation. Through simple marks and attentive seeing, these drawings become a visual record of learning, discipline, and presence.
